Co-Chair of the Bright Futures Conference (Feburary - June 2016)

Bright Future for Young Mothers Canada

The Bright Futures Conference is a fundraiser and professional conference that aims to empower women in both Toronto and Tanzania. The event fundraises for healthcare for young mothers in our shelter in Tanzania by providing a day of skills workshops, inspiring speakers, and networking opportunities for women in Toronto. I came up with this event idea and brought together a team of my peers to execute it.

Tasks & Achievements:
  • Secured workshop hosts, speakers, a sponsored venue, and food and item sponsors
  • Design promotional material, including logo, WordPress pages, social media banners, brochure, and advertisements
  • Coordinate social media marketing campaign
  • Work with the University of Toronto's Department of Computer Science Innovation Lab to host and promote event

Web Designer (2015 - 2016)

University of Toronto: Department of Anthropology

The ANT100 course coordinator wanted a more modern look for the course website that was also responsive so that students could reference material on-the-go. This project involved developing a sensible information architecture for ease of students' usage, engaging interactive JQuery elements, and a clean modern look that could be repurposed for other courses.

Tasks & Achievements:
  • Design and development of a responsive course website using Axure, Sublime Text, and the Adobe Suite
  • Information architecture using X-Mind and Axure
  • Proposed and implemented interactive JavaScript quizzes to engage students
  • Built JQuery accordion content sliders to organize information

Digital Designer & Strategist (2015 - 2016)

Chartreuse Media

Chartreuse is a progressive integrated marketing and management company specializing in multiplatform solutions through live communications and social media technologies using cutting edge design.

Tasks & Achievements:
  • Developed websites using HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, WordPress, and the Bootstrap framework
  • Designed graphics and print layouts using the Adobe Design Suite
  • Managed client accounts and led strategy meetings
  • Operated social media and email campaigns using HootSuite, BenchMark, and TweetDeck
  • Debugged and edited code and designs from other projects

Sponsorship Director (2014 - 2015)

Power Unit Youth Organization

Power Unit Youth Organization (PUYO) is a youth-driven non-profit organization based in Toronto, striving to promote youth development and empowerment through philanthropy. PUYO provides hands-on project management opportunities to youth aged 16-25 through three initiatives: Night It Up!, a night market attracting 120,000 patrons annually; The E3 Challenge, a business challenge based on The Apprentice; and Paint-A-Thon, an arts-based fundraiser.

Tasks & Achievements:
  • Led team of peers to negotiate and secure $50,000+ in sponsorships with companies such as Sony, Royale, Aveeno, Trojan, Uber, and TD Bank
  • Managed redesign of sponsorship package, business cards, and promotional materials
  • Coordinate invoice tracking, digital marketing resources, and event-day logistics

Fundraiser Organizer (2010, 2012)

I worked with a peer to organize charity banquets to fundraise for the Leprosy Mission Hospital in India and the Scarborough Women's Centre

Tasks & Achievements:
  • Raised over $3000 per event for each beneficiary
  • Designed logo, tickets, posters, and managed WordPress website for the events
  • Received "Volunteer of the Year 2013" award from the Scarborough Women's Centre
